Over time and with use, every product we make begins to break down as part of the natural lifecycle of any consumer product.  Water resistance after use and exposure to the elements can diminish.  This is not covered under warranty, but it is simple to DIY fix!  The best way to repair the waterproofing on your Smartshade is to follow the same instructions for resealing a tent rainfly which can be found in the FAQ section under: My tent is sticky, flaky, and leaking water- what do I do?
